THIS TEXAS CIVIL JUSTICE LEAGUE DIRECT MAIL FUNDRAISING PIECE was produced and mailed for one of the nation’s leading tort reform organizations. It capitalized on Governor Bush’s and Lt. Governor Perry’s popularity and support for tort reform. It created a sense of urgency about the preparations that personal injury trial lawyers were making to use their millions of dollars in tobacco lawsuit contingency fees to bankroll candidates who would vote to overturn landmark tort reform laws in Texas.
